Governor Vacancies

We currently have an opening on our Governing Body for a Parent and Co-opted Governors, so come and join our Governing Body and help MAKE A DIFFERENCE in children’s’ education.

School Governors represent England’s largest group of volunteers who are dedicated to school improvement. Governors make important decisions with regard to the running of the college – that is, with regard to curriculum, student targets, school improvement, budget, staffing, health and safety, management of premises.

We are looking to appoint decision makers who can demonstrate sound judgement and strategic leadership. The role is voluntary and your experience could help lead the College through a challenging period for further education. The broader your vocational field and cultural experience the better in further encouraging the success of our students.

Being a Governor is a big commitment, but one that can be very rewarding.  You are required to attend 4 full Governors’ meetings a year, and in addition join one of our committees, which also meet 4 times a year.  You will also carry out appropriate monitoring during the college day, plus attend any necessary training, and be available for any additional meetings you may be required for.

If you feel you are able to give the appropriate time and commitment to this role, and have the financial, legal or educational background we require to complement the skills of our existing Governing Body, you are requested to write a 60 word statement for the attention of; Mr Kam Mistry, Chair of Governors at the College address or by email to: by 3pm on Tuesday 28th February 2017.
