WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Bob Childs (teacher 1976-2009) is writing a short booklet on the recent history of the School to coincide with the move into the new building.

Any past student, teacher or parent from the period 1976 onwards for either Spencefield School or The City of Leicester School who wants to submit a few lines, memories or photographs (e.g. of a team) to help in this task is invited to send it to collegewebsite@cityleicester.leicester.sch.uk or drop it into our Reception by Monday 3 June 2013.

Clearly the booklet will not be a detailed study and cannot do justice to the thousands directly involved but hopefully can help link the new College with its own history.

Many thanks.

Headteacher's Welcome

The City of Leicester College is a specialist Business and Enterprise College. I hope you enjoy finding out about the College which is a truly diverse community of staff and students who work in harmony to succeed.

We are a ‘good and improving College, with outstanding community cohesion’. Our ethos is one of happiness, ambition and success for all those associated with the College.

This is an exciting period in the history of the College; the achievements
have been improving year on year, exceeding national averages at KS4 and
continuing to maintain our position in the top 5% of Sixth Forms.

We are also preparing to move into our new building, built to our own design
to reflect the needs of the modern student, reflecting the very different
skills they will require, but maintaining the traditional attitudes of
respect, caring and compassion.

A central action plan is to improve our communication and partnership work with parents. There is a suggestion box in the Reception which I hope parents will use. For specific communications with regards to your child, please use the student planner.

Be happy, be ambitious, make a difference.
Ms Anne Gregory
