KS4 Curriculum

The City of Leicester College’s curriculum provides exceptional opportunities and can offer one of the widest and most varied choices of any school in Leicester.

Although it is compulsory that students follow some ‘core’ subjects, we provide many alternative, personalised pathways for the curriculum that they choose.

There is a natural transition from Key Stage 4 to 5 with the majority of students choosing to stay on into our Sixth Form.

Students study a core of English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Science and Religious Studies. The majority of students will follow the Combined Sciences pathway (where they achieve two GCSEs) with the exception of those who choose Separate Sciences as one of their option subjects; those students will gain three GCSEs in total across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In addition all students will take part in Physical Education (PE) and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) which have no exams attached.

Below are the current Key Stage 4 courses. Click on the subject links for information on the course description and awarding bodies.
