Entry Requirements 2026

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

For all Level 3 pathways five passes (9-4) or more at GCSE’s are required including at least Grade 4 in Maths and English. The following Level 3 pathways are available:

5 GCSE's 9-4 inc. Maths & English. Subject specific criteria apply (see below)
Select 3 A levels or 2 A levels + Applied General Course
Students have the option to take Core Maths or Extended Project alongside their core subjects.
Core Maths is required if students are studying Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography but NOT also taking A level Maths.

Biology	Grade 6	66 in Double Science; if triple 665 with 6 in Biology. Grade 5 in English.
Business Studies	Grade 5*	Grade 5 in Business Studies if taken for GCSE, English Grade 5
Chemistry	Grade 6	66 in Double Science; if triple 665 with 6 in Chemistry. Grade 5 in English.
Computing	Grade 6	Grade 5 if taken for GCSE
Core Maths (AS)	Grade 5
Economics	Grade 5*	Grade 5 if taken for GCSE. Grade 5 in English.
English Literature		Grade 5 in English Literature.
Geography	Grade 5*	Grade 5 in Geography if taken for GCSE.
Law		Grade 5 in English Language
Mathematics	Grade 6
Further Maths	Grade 7
Physics	Grade 6	66 in Double Science; if triple 665 with 6 in Physics. Grade 5 in English.
Psychology	Grade 5*
Sociology		Grade 5 if taken for GCSE. Grade 5 in English Language is recommended.

* Grade 5 recommended but not essential

Equivalence is hard to define but in simple terms the qualification is worth the same number of UCAS points.
